New A Shadow ambient mix

Thursday, November 10, 2011 • , , • 0 comments

Beautiful mix from A Shadow, weaving together influences that span drone, contemporary classical and electronica. All have a shared interest in texture and feature a carefully considered development of sparse and delicate musical material.

A Shadow's debut album 'When All Is Said And Done Whats Left To Say And Do' is out tomorrow (Fri 11 Nov) on Second Square To None.

New mix: Eomac - Bleep best of 2010

Thursday, January 27, 2011 • , • 0 comments

Another great mix, collecting stuff that I loved in 2010 and some I missed. Lots of shuffling two-step and bass-orientated electronica. Also, if you have an account, favourite the mix on Mixcloud to help send Eomac to Bloc.

Jimmy penguin [it depends what your into] by Jimmy penguin

Really nice mix from Jimmy Penguin. He has a great knack for getting an organic flow going within a mix and the selection here is a perfect mix of off-kilter electronics touching on hip-hop, electro and experimental electronica. Includes tracks from Sunken Foal, Laura Sheeran and Jimmy himself aswell as the likes of Loops Haunt, Lorn and Plastikman.

Solar Bears mix for Bestiblog

Mix by Solar Bears following the recent release of their debut on Planet Mu. Aptly described as "makers of dream-like psych, kraut and ambient soundscapes that evoke the sounds of synth legends like Giorgio Moroder, John Carpenter and Klaus Schulze".

All Irish Promo Mix by Eomac

DECEMBER: All Irish Promo Mix  by  djeomac

Very nice mix by Eomac featuring loads of top Irish producers. Just goes to show the range of talent that floating about these days..

Notes & tracklisting lifted from Eomac's Soundcloud account.

Irish !Kaboogie Alphabetset Acroplane Stasis Mantrap
The final part of my series, this one is dedicated to my comrades-in-riddim from this beautiful isle of ours. A promo mix of what the Irish beat community has to offer at the moment. This only tips the iceberg. There may be a follow up mix to this shortly with stuff I didn't have time to include or didn't work in this mix.
I tried to vary it up style-wise and vary between unreleased and released material, and between tracks from different artists and labels to give a good overview of what's happening here at the moment.
Hope you enjoy....
