Notes: This is arecording made at an important festival, the music was made as an accompaniment to dance. Baris literally mans procession. In this performance as many as 70 to 80 male villagers clad in brilliant costumes, each holding a weapon such as a spear or a rifle in one hand, dance in a row within the grounds of the temple, the occasional shouts and exclamations to be heard in various parts of the performance are emitted by the men as they perform battle scenes.

This piece is dance music extolling a young hero. Tarna means youth in Balanese.
